Miss Adams-
I found you through Ben Chapman's site- Nice to see you're still swimming with the current. There's a posting of the 1954 Mechanix Illustrated article about making the Gill-man on the homepage space that might interest you. All the very best- Stan |

Hi, Julie. Hope this finds you well. To start off, I'm a kid of the 50's(born, 1946) and find myself returning there often in these times to maintain my sanity with all that this world has become. I am also a huge sci fi fan(only 50's though, not the recent stuff). Richard Carlson and Richard Denning(I bet you remember them :), are big fans of mine. Wish I could have met all of you. I have always respectfully admired your beauty when I first saw you in "Creature.." I know the 50's are long gone, but I sure wish times would return to the qualities of life and people those days had. As for me: just turned 60(03/17/46). That 60 number has done more in the last 2-3 weeks to put me in touch with my mortality than any other bday. Something about turning 60. It did something to me inside. 4 kids, 3 dogs, a cat, living in a big 2 story home. The neigborhood is beautiful - 100 ft tall pine treess, fairways everywhere you look, a shopping center in the middle called Town Center.
Well, Julie, will let you go for now. I just want to say thank you for making my childhood Friday nights to the good old Black and White double features(with a Republic serial in between, of course), a cherished memory. Hope to hear back from you if you feel inclined to write. Sincerely, Charles and Peggy Rabalais Kingwood, Texas 04/04/06 ![]() |

Dear Ms. Adams,
I just ran across this site this afternoon and was delighted that I was able to get an autographed photo. I will send everything off Monday. You are without a doubt one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood history. I recently purchased "The Creature From the Black Lagoon" on the Universal Classics collection. I had not seen it for years and I forgot how stunning you are. I am glad to hear you are doing well and still able to please your countless fans. I look forward to showing off my photograph. Best wishes-- Steve Anderson Moreno Valley, CA |

Came across your website while visiting the Ben Chapman site, and enjoyed reading it very much. I have been a Creature fan since I was a young boy in the 1960s, and have watched it more times than I can count since. I was also delighted to be reminded that you appeared on THE JIMMY STEWART SHOW, a program I enjoyed quite a bit when it aired on NBC.
Best of luck in your future endevours, and thank you for this wonderful website! |

I fell in love with you the first time I saw " the Creature" in 1973. I saw it again tonight (3/25/06) and wanted to see if you were still around. Would like to meet you sometime...(803) 739-6889

Julie,
I have not seen all of your movies I'm sure but I have, since I was a little boy, absolutely adored you as the star of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. I have the biggest crush on you even today! One thing of interest ... although I did not see the movie, I have read that you acted in one with Jimmy Stewart. I always wished that I could have met him. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and was very close friends with my grandfather, Herbert Mountan, who attended the same college and majored in Theology. My mother still has my grandfather's college yearbook signed by Jimmy. It says: Herb, Preach it Loud! -Jimmy Take care, Julie, and God Bless! -Randy |

You and Grace Kelly were the classic
beautiful women of the fiities. You looked great in Bend of the River. |

Dear Julie:
We hope all is well. I forgot to ask you a question. Whatever happened to the lady that designed the Creature? She was a Countess I heard but it seems she disappeared. Do you know anything? The Creature is my wife's favorite monster. We met you at Butler, PA three years ago. It was nice to talk with yourself, Ben, Sarah Karloff, Mr. Burns, and Kevin McCarthy. Your acting as a bitter wife who liked the sauce on Kolchak the Night Stalker's R.I.N.G. episode was outstanding. Mr. McGavin is missed. Please give Ben a hug for us. He is a gentle giant. If you ever get back to C.F. or Waterloo (Iowa) try the Other Place Pizza. Take care, Thor & Lise |

It was love at first sight when I first saw you in "Creature From The Black Lagoon." It was 1987 and I was 13 years old. You are the main attraction of that film...not the creature. To this day, I still tell people of the sexiest and most beautiful woman ever to be chased by a slimy green monster! hahaha

-Greetings, Julie-
How is everything? What a joy to run across your website. I am a big fan of the movies of Universal-International and wrote an intense career study of Ray Danton that nearly drove me nuts. I spent a fortune collecting his movie and television credits, both as an actor and director. So far, I've yet to find a publisher, which is a shame because I think that Ray Danton was brilliant. I'd like to write a film appreciation of your career once I gain my senses. Anyhow, it's an honor to write to you and I will be sending for an autographed copy of one of the lovely pictures you have for sale. Take care, Julie, and please drop me a line if you have the time. -all the best- Joe Fusco ![]() |

Dear Mrs. Adams, I'm from Italy and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you for your long career both on the silver screen and on TV. For your endless roles as in "Creature", and "Bend in the river" and "Bright Victory", and so on. Later, italians have admired and loved you in your wonderful depiction of crazy but funny Paula Denning in "Capitol", and as Eve in "Murder she wrote". A big big hug from Italy, hoping you will come soon here.

Julie,
I found out yesterday that a new "Creature from the Black Lagoon" novel is being written. It is supposedly set in the future about 10 years or so from now. If this book is made into a feature film, the prospective producers should seriously consider having you make an appearance in the film. I think it would be a fitting tribute to you and the others who worked on the original film that started the whole Creature Craze. Just my two cents of course, but I think it would be great! By the way--last night I caught the "The White Widow" Maverick episode on my DVR that you made a guest appearance in. You sure knocked me for a loop! You started out as a lonely but nice, efficient Bank President and ended up as the major villian of the episode! I sure didn't see that coming--what a great acting job! Thanks again for all your TV and movie work, Jay Hrusa.

Dear Julie: I've never seen one more beautiful or lovely as you. What pure joy comes over me when I gaze upon your face, I've always wanted to let you know. My fondest hope and wish is that for one brief shinning moment you might read this and I might have touched your heart. A short note I know, but now you know I exist and have and always will be your most sincere fan. Always Thom

I have been watching you guest starring on some Maverick, Hawaiin Eye, and Surfside Six episodes on the American Life Network the past three months or so. I did not realize that you did episodic TV in the late 50s/early 60s. I really think Hollywood missed out by not having you as a lead in a TV series during that time frame. Many of the leads and guest stars on these shows did not have the acting experience that you did at the time. I still enjoy seeing you in them--especially since I have found out that you appeared on quite a few of these shows! That means I will have so much more to watch! Thank you so much for these shows and your extensive movie work, Jay Hrusa.

The Creature From The Black Lagoon wasn't the only one who fell in love with Julie Adams. I've been following your career for years and have long thought you an extremely talented and somewhat underrated actress.
I'm very pleased to see you're alive, well and active at conventions and fan shows. Maybe, if I'm lucky, you'll appear at one on The East Coast in the near future. All the best. |

I typed my name on google once, just for fun, and to my amazement I found out an actress has the same name than me. The funniest part is I'm a theater student myself! I'll definitely watch your movies and try to learn from what I see.

DEAR MISS ADAMS;
LATELY I'VE SEEN YOU ON SEVERAL RERUNS OF PERRY MASON & MURDER SHE WROTE BUT I NEVER REALIZED THE EXTENT OF YOUR CARREER & TALENT UNTIL I CHECKED OUT YOUR WEBSITE. i'M 51 YEARS OLD NOW, BUT IF I HAD MET YOU 30 YEARS AGO I WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOUR X-HUSBAND SOME COMPETITION. I DONT CARE FOR THE TV SHOWS & MOVIES OF TODAY AS THEY LACK SUBSTANCE AND TALENT. ITS REFRESHING TO SEE THE WRITING, DIRECTING AND ACTING OF THE PAST WHEN QUALITY MATTERED. KEEP APPEARING AT PUBLICITY SHOWS AND SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCED WORK WITH THE PUBLIC. PERHAPS WE CAN REACH YOUNGER PEOPLE AND EDUCATE THEM TO A HIGHER STANDARD. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU WILL MAKE ANOTHER PUBLIC APPEARANCE IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA AND IF YOU EVER HAVE A CHANCE TO GO TO THE NEXT VAN NUYS AIRSHOW YOU MIGHT SEE ME AND MY CLASSIC WARBIRD AIRPLANE. LOVE THOSE CLASSICS. TAKE CARE ,,, CAPT. PILOT FRANK |

Julie, I have been in love with you nearly as long as I can remember! From "Creature..." through "County Nurse" on the Andy Griffith show and on to "Tickle Me" with "the King," I have been reduced to a slobbering idiot any time you came onscreen!
I'm 54 now, and thanks for all the years of classic and classy entertainment. What a great lady! |

I was in your fan club back in the
