Hi, Julie. Hope this finds you well. To start off, I'm a kid of the 50's(born, 1946) and find myself returning there often in these times to maintain my sanity with all that this world has become. I am also a huge sci fi fan(only 50's though, not the recent stuff). Richard Carlson and Richard Denning(I bet you remember them :), are big fans of mine. Wish I could have met all of you. I have always respectfully admired your beauty when I first saw you in "Creature.." I know the 50's are long gone, but I sure wish times would return to the qualities of life and people those days had. As for me: just turned 60(03/17/46). That 60 number has done more in the last 2-3 weeks to put me in touch with my mortality than any other bday. Something about turning 60. It did something to me inside. 4 kids, 3 dogs, a cat, living in a big 2 story home. The neigborhood is beautiful - 100 ft tall pine treess, fairways everywhere you look, a shopping center in the middle called Town Center.

Well, Julie, will let you go for now. I just want to say thank you for making my childhood Friday nights to the good old Black and White double features(with a Republic serial in between, of course), a cherished memory.

Hope to hear back from you if you feel inclined to write.

One thing of interest ... although I did not see the movie, I have read that you acted in one with Jimmy Stewart. I always wished that I could have met him. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and was very close friends with my grandfather, Herbert Mountan, who attended the same college and majored in Theology.
My mother still has my grandfather's college yearbook signed by Jimmy. It says: Herb, Preach it Loud! -Jimmy

The Creature is my wife's favorite monster. We met you at Butler, PA three years ago. It was nice to talk with yourself, Ben, Sarah Karloff, Mr. Burns, and Kevin McCarthy.

Your acting as a bitter wife who liked the sauce on Kolchak the Night Stalker's R.I.N.G. episode was outstanding. Mr. McGavin is missed.

It was love at first sight when I first saw you in "Creature From The Black Lagoon." It was 1987 and I was 13 years old. You are the main attraction of that film...not the creature. To this day, I still tell people of the sexiest and most beautiful woman ever to be chased by a slimy green monster! hahaha

I found out yesterday that a new "Creature from the Black Lagoon" novel is being written. It is supposedly set in the future about 10 years or so from now. If this book is made into a feature film, the prospective producers should seriously consider having you make an appearance in the film. I think it would be a fitting tribute to you and the others who worked on the original film that started the whole Creature Craze. Just my two cents of course, but I think it would be great! By the way--last night I caught the "The White Widow" Maverick episode on my DVR that you made a guest appearance in. You sure knocked me for a loop! You started out as a lonely but nice, efficient Bank President and ended up as the major villian of the episode! I sure didn't see that coming--what a great acting job! Thanks again for all your TV and movie work, Jay Hrusa.

I have been watching you guest starring on some Maverick, Hawaiin Eye, and Surfside Six episodes on the American Life Network the past three months or so. I did not realize that you did episodic TV in the late 50s/early 60s. I really think Hollywood missed out by not having you as a lead in a TV series during that time frame. Many of the leads and guest stars on these shows did not have the acting experience that you did at the time. I still enjoy seeing you in them--especially since I have found out that you appeared on quite a few of these shows! That means I will have so much more to watch! I have just become a fan of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, since the recent Legacy Collections (Universal Monsters)came out on dvd's. I found that I love the old black and white movies immensely. I watch them over and over still seeing something new each time. Do you have any plans to visit Tulsa, OK in for future signings?
