Hello Julie,
I'm glad I found this site. I have been rewatching episodes of the Andy Griffith show and I really enjoyed the episode where you play the nurse. The last scene of Barney getting the shot is hilarious. I remember being pretty small when "Creature" was out and I've never seen it all, but I will try and do that now. Hope you're well. Take care.

Great looking site. Think you did a bunch of your own coding.

Happy Birthday, Ms. Adams. I saw you yesterday on an Andy Griffith rerun and thought to look you up on Wikipedia. Lo' and behold, it is your birthday!
I have to confess that for years I did not like you :) It was sort of your own fault. The first time I saw you I was about 12 years old and you were the female antagonist in Tickle Me. Considering that for me puberty began when I first laid eyes on Elvis, you didn't stand a chance.
That's all in the past of course, and I am very glad to see that you are well and still active in your craft. From my viewpoint, you have had a wonderful career, and I wish you continued good fortune.
Sincerely,
Susan Witherspoon

Dear Miss Adams:
I just wanted to tell you that I always thought you were a wonderful actress and so beautiful, equal, if not better than, Ava Gardner. Your generation was very lucky to have so many well written, intelligent scripts to go along with so many talented and classy actors and actresses. Anytime I see you on TV - I just caught you on Andy Griffith - I stop what I'm doing to watch you.
Hope you are in good health and would love to see you on TV again! Sincerely, Patty

Dear Miss Adams, I just received your new book and enjoyed it immensely. I wanted to thank you so very much for the autograph in the book and the autographed picture of you with Andy Griffith. You should check into being a guest at Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, N.C. It is always the last full weekend in September. I KNOW everyone there would be excited to see you. Once again, Thanks.

Dear Julia:
I saw you my first time when I was a boy and certainly I was more interested in the black lagoon monster than in you.
Now, at my 64, I think I prefer you to the monster.
You was and you are a beautiful woman and what is more, a woman with happy spirits and humor.
How much I would love to swim under you in that lagoon as that preposterous creature did!!!
My best
Fern

Naturally I am a big Creature fan having grown up in the fab 50s, but I enjoy spotting you in tv shows from the 50s-60s, my favorite tv era. You always gave a show a big serving of class just by being in it. Looking forward to reading your book!

Hello Ms. Adams, I notice from IMDb that you appeared in "Red, Hot, and Blue" (Paramount 1949). Do you know if there is an organization that archives orchestration music from that film,or other musicals of the era? Thank you for writing your memoirs. I appreciate your happy personality. Best wishes, Andrea

When The Creature FTBL came out it was a period in my life when going to the movies on Saturday afternoon was a favorite American pastime. It was affordable, safe and pleasurable and the plots ended with the "good guys" winning.
Movies like The Creature From the Black Lagoon had elements of the 19th century melodramas with the audience drawn in by the action; in particular when the creature's claws got close to the heroine when she is unaware of his presence swimming below her or sneaking up behind her. The girls in the theater would especially let their emotions fly. But that sort of emotional display was all part of going to a scary "movie."
When the movie ended it was nice to step outside into a sunny day with that feeling of being safe from the claws of the Creature! You would wonder as you walked home after having your wits frightened off you if you could be brave like Julie Adams and swim in the same waters as swam the Creature From the Black Lagoon?
